Tembusu Partners extends our warmest congratulations to Mrs Lim Hwee Hua, Director & Member of Investment Committee and a Singapore Former Minister, on the launch of her book entitled “Government in Business- Friend or Foe?”.

The book was launched by Mr Patrick Daniel, Chairman of Straits Times Press and Editor-in-Chief, English and Malay Newspapers Division, Singapore Press Holdings on 30 October 2013 at an event jointly organised by the National University of Singapore Business School Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organization and the Straits Times Press, the publisher. In her book “Government in Business- Friend or Foe?”, she discusses government’s role in businesses and in the economy. In a speech at the launch, Mrs Lim pointed out that government need not apologise for its role in business. Mrs Lim noted that government should not be wedded to doctrine or a dogmatic policy stance as markets are increasingly borderless and technology enables quantum leaps in many spheres, and explored the various levers of influence governments have at their disposal beyond ownership of assets and business.

“Government in Business- Friend or Foe?” by Lim Hwee Hua, in English, is now sold at all leading bookstores in Singapore. Its Chinese edition is expected to be launched in Beijing, China in late November 2013.
